And when RI Speaker of the House Shekarchi doesn’t put in any of the budget money toward the state pension (and we know there was a surplus of money with even Biden giving money to all the states) before he, all of a sudden, came up with the excuse of alleged expenditures, we can presume that he doesn’t realize retirees and pensioners are also RI taxpayers who by the way, pay his salary and vote. Hopefully they will remember when Speaker Shekarchi’s election comes around, how they got screwed by him by his refusal to put money in the pension and replace him with a more pension-friendly General Assembly politician and speaker.

Rhode Island state pension participants were the first to get screwed by Wall Street's so-called "pension reform" championed by Gina Raimondo. I exposed the looting in 2013 and in 10 years, no one in RI has done anything. It's a $3 billion theft that no one in government cares about.

And you are right; no one IS going to do anything about it. The unions were complicit with fraudmondo since she gave them their raises every three years that coincided with her reelection as the leadership screwed their own rank and file. The present speaker of the house Shekarchi, has not and won’t put money in the pension. He needs to be voted out next term by the people in his district. I cannot stress how important it is to shake up the GA but too many are clueless as to what’s going on and others just don’t care. In RI, once a politician gets in, it’s difficult if even possible to get them out. The people vote “D” regardless of who it is. One example is the clueless, raimondo backed treasurer- Diossa the newbie who will continue to hide what the fraud, raimondo did to screw pensioners in 2011. And the current speaker is her friend so you know he will do nothing to upset her. Will the 66,000 people grow a spine and fight back???? I won’t hold my breath. You once said keep the flame going. Personally I see the flame flickering and hopefully not extinguished if pensioners smarten up. Retirees and pensioners need their own leader or lobbyist to help them, as of now only you seem to be doing it.

To fight for our pensions we need to make all stakeholders aware and take action. How about calling our reps and demanding better transparency and forensic audits by people like Ted. They start to get nervous when a lot of people start calling them.

Dale Folwell ran on a platform that he was going to reform the system following my forensic investigation in 2015 on behalf of the State Employees Association of NC. He failed to do so--claiming his efforts on health insurance precluded lowering investment costs, improving transparency etc. He certainly could and should have improved management of the pension's investments.

North Carolina is mentioned. Is that based on recent or older experience. I thought they reformed their system.
