If state officials claim everything is proper and have nothing to hide, than they should welcome an investigation by a forensic expert. One panicks only if they are hiding something or the books have been cooked. I know this, because my state with then Governor raimondo who is “fraudmondo” in my book, created a false lie ( said the state was in dire need, going broke, so she had the GA take away cola, which was illegal since cola is part of the contract to get pension money transferred to her Wall Street buddies in return for political office. There was never transparency, just a hoax perpetuated by her to pay high fees with pensioners ‘ money.
